Magic’s Royal Duke Sammy Cortino on Cover of International Magic Publication
(HICKORY, North Carolina — February 25, 2007) Hickory’s own 18 Year old magician Sammy Cortino is featured on the cover of February’s issue of Secrets magazine – the official publication of The Young Magicians Club. The Young Magician’s Club is the international youth initiative of the renowned Magic Circle in London. Members of the mother organization include Lance Burton and David Copperfield. In the youth subsidiary’s magazine Cortino discusses, in an article he wrote, the importance of magicians as artists keeping up with the times. Cortino’s feature turned out to be a two page centerfold spread featuring pictures from his September 2006 performance at the 1,000 seat Brohill Civic Center in Lenoir. “I was really amazed to be featured in this publication and to be read about internationally – it’s a blessing!” the magician says.
