Looks are becoming extremely important in magic nowadays. Criss Angel has become a superstar partly because of his different looks, David Copperfield got attention for his rock star looks, and Lance Burton received some recognition because he started wearing tuxes when everyone else wasn’t. One way you can become recognized in magic is by developing a unique look that is truly you. Try, for a while, to step away from the magic scene and try to create a look that is original. This action insures that any look you create is inspired by other magicians as least as possible. No one wants to see a David Copperfield clone. Always try, however, to make sure your look is magical to some extent so people will know you are a magician. Your looks will change too, so don’t feel like you are developing a “permanent” look. Your tastes and interests change so naturally your style does also. Your fashion is a direct reflection of who you are. Try even to develop a look offstage that somehow goes with you on stage dress.
